"I'm absolutely FURIOUS!! I just returned from Harris Teeter #HarrisTeeter #HT in Warrenton, Virginia. I shopped and FILLED my small cart, top & bottom. I go through Checkout #1, and was rang up by a #Teeter Associate. I was tempted by the sales, and purchased far more than what I had originally gone in there for. \n\nI pay with my card, and ease over to the Customer Service counter to play my Powerball numbers, after my items are paid for and bagged. Afterwards, I head towards the door, briefly looking at #Starbucks mugs and glanced over at the holiday candy that was being stocked. \n\nIn my peripheral vision, I see 2 Managers easing to the front, 'incognito,' or so they thought, but I still didn't give it a second thought, that is UNTIL my cart locked up at the door on a dime. My original thought was that I had ran over an item on the floor, so I tried to move again. By the time I looked up, a Teeter Associate was at my cart with a scanner to UNLOCK the #AutoCartLock that #HarrisTeeterHT have now installed on their carts. \n\nWhen I asked the Associate why my cart locked up, she said, "you were not at the register long enough for the system to deactivate the lock." Like, #WTF!!! \n\nWhat the hell you mean I wasn't at the Associate manned register long enough, when my receipt look like a long #CVS receipt, and it's almost as long as my damn legs, and I'm 5'10" tall?! I didn't use the self-service registers, and have ALWAYS refused to use them! \n\nShe unlock the cart, and apologize. That's not gonna fly with me! You don't lock my cart up, while other customers behind me walk out without incident! I'm NOT buying the BS they tried to sell me!!\n\nI turn around and go directly to CS. Those same 2 Managers come to the counter in an attempt to explain away the stop, NOW blaming it on a broken sensor at Register 1.\n\nNow, for the sake of argument, if they KNEW the auto-release-lock sensor was broken, why open the damn register when there are NUMEROUS other registers to open???\n\nI'm NOT buying the explanation, because they know as well as I do, why they stopped ME, and not other customers!! Plain and simple, I was stopped because of the color of my skin, PERIOD!!\n\nI refunded EVERYTHING on that damn receipt!! I was too humiliated and mad to accept the TWO weak explanations they tried to peddle!! \n\nA day before #VeteransDay and this is what I encountered after clearly being scanned by their Associate!! It's one thing to be questioned in the parking lot by a customer when I park in a #Veteran parking space, and it's another blow to be insulted when I shop and PAY for EVERYTHING in my damn cart, inside the store!! #VeteransDay2025 #Army #RetiredArmy"

Anyone own a Sage VXP rod? How are they? I know Sage has developed a good number of different rods since that one came out. Looking back into the archives here, I noticed a lot of love for the old RPL but am having trouble finding much mention about the VXP. I'm asking because I noticed...
Hi folks, I am refinishing an older bamboo rod marked Iver Johnson Expert. It is 3 piece and 8’ 6” in pretty good shape. The only structural issue is a set in the tip section and a minor delamination along one seam in the base section about ten inches long. I was wondering how best to reglue...
Hi everyone, I recently moved back to Skagit Valley and am excited to delve into fly fishing. I'm quite new to this and would appreciate any tips on good spots for beginners. Currently, I have two rods: a 10ft 8wt and a 9ft 5wt. I'm open to targeting any species of fish in Lakes or Rivers. I do...
The fly that always works at Goose for me is one I got off another site. Here is the recipe in my own words: Use a thin wire hook for a surface-subsurface fly and a heavier wire for a nymph style fly. Use what ever kind of hair you want, but I like brown deer hair.
I teach overhead casting with a Two Handed Fly Rod as a way to install the proper rod track from the key position to the forward stop. I had a very hard time with understanding several things so I took a great deal of time to understand the overhead cast as done with a Two Handed Fly Rod. This has helped my Single Hand Fly Rod casting immensely,
Can anyone give me first hand input on Flylogic reels (specifically the FLO456). I am kind of a Ross reel guy, but I came across the Flylogic while looking for reels for a gift for my adult son who is an accomplished flyfisher. Thanks for any advice. Lee
Got a chance to watch a demo of the norvise system at the FF expo in Port Townsend this weekend and was pretty impressed with the way the whole system works, although it was a little spendy for my blood, (still working on building my fly tying room). Of all of you that have tied on one or own...
Hi all, my cheap breathable stocking foot waders have finally started leaking hard, and I’m looking for a new pair. Has anyone had experience with Paramount Outdoors waders? Specifically the “Deep Eddy Zippered Breathable Stockingfoot” waders? I want to give zippered waders a try for the first...
