Don’t be sucked into paying for a guide to take you to the base of the falls. Just follow the well signed path it’s relatively easy. Take care as the path is slippery in some areas. It costs 45,000ID…Full review by RKHOOKER

I know it's for charity (and I work for charities) but Ru700,000.00 (£35) seemed extortionate. Even the discounted rate of Ru500,000.00 as I was on my own was a lot to see water falling. If seen else…Full review by alldon

Could be slippery in some parts if there had been any recent rain. Will take about ten minutes to reach the falls. You don't need a guide and don't go to the main entrance and definitely don't get stung with a A$30 each entrance charge like we did.

The walk down to the falls is roughly 900 metres : a gradual, but steep descent comprising parts where there are, for example, many steep steps, followed by flat, sloping walkway, then more steep steps, sloping walkway.. etc etc.. In regard to your question: bearing in mind that the average 4 year old is around 100cm tall, and many of the steps are around 40-50 cm high, I think a child of that age would have great difficulty. Be prepared to offer a lot of assistance (ie lifting the child down /up the steps) or carrying him/her. The seven year old, being taller and more agile, would probably manage ok. Another 'tip' - don't bother with the 'guides' at the car park area and on the street, who ask for 100,000 Rph ($10) to escort you- it is totally unnecessary, as it is a straightforward path, with no risk of getting 'lost' along the way! From memory, the actual entry price was approx 20,000Rph ($2)
Q:
Hi, how much is the entrance fee?
A:
Hi, went last autumn and paid 10K for one, 20K for the other, plus parking for bike was 2000 at each ;)
Q:
Is end of April best time to visit this?
A:
April/may would be good, but anytime outside of wet season would be good which is around Nov- Feb hope this helps

She would manage the steps down and up. They are concrete and sound but you would need to hold her hand as some are a little taller than usual steps. Easy gradient and wide so you could take your time. Relying on memory approx. 100 steps. Waterfall is only 20-30 metres from parking/road. Really beautiful. Large boulders surround pool at base so she cant easily access water on her own but you can access base pool. Water was quite cold. We went back up stairs to where some stalls are and accessed a lower downstream pool across a safe footbridge. I would take her in the water there if you want a dip. So worth it. Enjoy!!
