We haven't spent much time on the beach because we travel with our small dog, but I was able to see some seaweed when we look down from our terrace. The adult pool area is amazing and free of seaweed!! lol
You can fly into Miami but most of the time FLL, Fort Lauderdale airport is cheaper. The beach is about half way between both airports so a cab is $20-25 either way.

There is a large parking lot across the street from Haulover Beach. If you drive park there and be sure to put everything in the trunk. If you take a taxi you may not be able to get one back if you do not have a number to call. Be sure you can call a cab. There are umbrellas, chair and drinks available for rent on the beach. The North end tipocaly is the 'gay' end but it is such a large beach and a big mix of naked people it's very hard to tell. Do a Google search, there's a website for the group that oversees the beach. Enjoy your visit to Haulover.
