I am planning to have my birthday in Fort Kochi next January. We are a group of 15-20 Australians in our 50s-60s. Do you have a balcony or room we could use for a party? We would be staying at the hotel. If we bring our duty free beer or wine can we drink it? Is there a place we could have some fireworks nearby? Many thanks and kind regards Jane

This is certainly a question best addressed to the manager. His name is Jerin Joseph (Jerry) and he is a doll. To my memory, there was no private room, not that we saw. We stayed there two times, at the beginning of the trip and at the end. There was a lovely, really lovely area outside of our first 2nd floor room. It was very large and covered. Next to it was a semi-outdoor, patio area. Neither is really private, but could accommodate your group, if the hotel allowed it. I can tell you there is no alcohol served at that hotel or almost none of the others in the area. No such thing as a bar. All alcohol is bought at gov't-approved package stores. Our driver took me to one and there I bought a very good Indian whiskey called, Royal Challenge, and I recommend it highly. As to fireworks, I do not know the local statute, but the hotel is within walking distance of the promenade and the beach. It might be possible, but I have no idea. My best advice is to write the hotel (as you will be guests, you must have the address) directing it to Jerin. He will certainly be able to address all your concerns, and give you the best advice. By all means, when you are there, do give him my love. What a sweetheart he is and what a terrific hotel. The food in the restaurant is very good. Be sure NOT to get a room in the front above the street, it is quite noisy. When we returned, we had an upstairs room far in the back.

A:
I agree with the above. It is only a small boutique hotel right in the middle of town. It only has a central area where the pool is. Not really a party hotel. More a place for quiet relaxation.
Q:
Ii this hotel near the airport?
A:
Hour and half from the airport
