At 11:28 a.m. on Tuesday, the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC released a flood warning valid from Tuesday 9 p.m. until further notice for Pitt County.
A flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:26 p.m. valid from Monday 4 p.m. until Thursday 3:15 p.m. for Greene, Hale and Marengo counties.
At 6:58 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued in east-central Wake, northeastern Johnston, Nash, and eastern Franklin counties. It came a minute after the NWS said a severe thunderstorm was located in Elm City, eight miles south of Nashville, moving northeast at 50 m.p.h.
