The Miami Dolphins wasted no time finding a roster replacement for Alexander Mattison, the running back who underwent season-ending neck surgery after being injured against the Chicago Bears. The Dolphins reportedly are adding Aaron Shampklin, a 25-year-old who played sparingly for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.

The Dolphins are adding running back Aaron Shampklin to their roster. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the team will sign Shampklin after working him out on Monday. They also worked out former Packers and Saints running back Jamaal Williams.

In the wake of losing Alexander Mattison to a season-ending neck injury, the Dolphins moved quickly to add running back depth Monday, signing veteran Aaron Shampklin, according to his agent Henry Organ. Shampklin, 25, has played only 28 NFL snaps on offense (in three games for Pittsburgh last season) and has six NFL carries, for 17 yards.
