The Government of Bangladesh has strongly refuted a statement made by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, labelling the claims as "unfounded" and contrary to the spirit of friendship between the two nations.

Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has criticised India's response to the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a former ISKCON leader in Chattogram, stating that it misrepresents facts and undermines the spirit of friendship and understanding between the two neighbouring countries.

ISKCON monk Chinmoy was reportedly held in Bangladesh for alleged sedition, during his rallies in Chattaogram and Rangpur. He was arrested from the Dhaka International Airport by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Police.
