The Red Sox survived Garrett Crochet’s first shaky start in weeks on Saturday, riding 14 hits to a 10-7 win over the Yankees in New York. The win gives Boston a chance to take the series on Sunday in primetime, with righthander Hunter Dobbins set to go on “Sunday Night Baseball” on ESPN.

The Red Sox, meanwhile, have struggled this season, entering Saturday night with a 30-35 record and losers in three of their last 10 games. On the season, Boston is 17-16 at Fenway Park and 13-19 away from home. The Red Sox are fifth in the AL East, only ahead of the 25-37 Baltimore Orioles.

Mayer’s home run is the lone positive for Boston so far in this game. The Sox trail 8-1 in the sixth inning. The Yankees pounded starter Walker Buehler for seven runs (five earned), seven hits, two homers and two walks in the first two innings.
