Shannon's daughter Anna died on Dec. 9, 2023, at age 29 from stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. She shares daughter Kylee with ex-husband Michael Cardwell, and is also a mom to daughter Kaitlyn.

Cardwell was diagnosed with stage IV adrenal carcinoma in January 2023 after experiencing stomach aches. The cancer was also found in her liver, kidney and lung. In May, the family revealed that the cancer was terminal. Cardwell is the mom of two daughters.
