President Donald Trump on Monday reiterated that he'd like to send U.S. citizens who commit violent crimes to prison in El Salvador, telling that country's president, Nayib Bukele, that he'd “have to build five more places” to hold the potential new arrivals.

The President escalated a fight with the Supreme Court over a wrongfully deported man, proposing to send U.S. citizens to El Salvador next.

Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to justify the incessant deportations—a law that permits the president to target immigrants without a hearing and deport them during times of “declared war” or when a foreign government undertakes an “invasion” or “predatory incursion.”
