Family and friends of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother are gathering Friday at a church where their bodies have been brought for a wake and funeral, after the Portuguese soccer players were killed in a car crash in Spain.

Mourners are set to gather in Portugal today for a wake to remember Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva. Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva, tragically died in a car accident in Zamora, Spain, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Jota, the Liverpool forward who in May celebrated winning the Premier League title, has died. He was 28. Police said Jota died along with his brother Andre Silva, also a soccer player, in a car accident near the northwestern city of Zamora, Spain.
