Duo, the green cartoon owl mascot for language learning app Duolingo, has mysteriously died, and singer Dua Lipa is grieving.

Duolingo tells EW that it's "shocked (and honored)" that the pop star "acknowledged his tragic fate" in the wake of Duo's untimely death.

For those unaware, Duo is the brand mascot that guides learners on the app, not holding back from threatening (to the extent of dropping nukes on) users who don't finish their lessons.
