The Seattle Mariners are on a magical run. They've walked off back to back games, in the 13th and then the 12th innings, respectively. And they've won six games in a row entering Friday night. SEATTLE — The hottest team in baseball is the Seattle Mariners, surging into a tie with the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West. The Mariners have won six straight games, thanks to productive hitting, a lights-out bullpen—and a witch?

At least a handful of players and scores of fans have been spotted recently with mustaches. Some in the clubhouse believe the facial hair has playoff power.

The Mariners won again Sunday and are on a nine-game winning streak. Thanks to that, and a thanks to Astros lefty Framber Valdez getting shelled on Sunday, Seattle is in first place in the American League West Division. The Mariners are 82-68. The Astros are 81-69.
