President-elect Donald Trump demanded the FBI preserve all documents related to its DEI office, which the agency says it closed in December.

The FBI’s DEI initiative has long been criticized by Republicans over concerns it has caused one of the country’s most powerful intelligence agencies to “abandon its core principle of attracting the most-qualified candidates and instead hire and advance employees based on gender/sexual orientation and race.”

The FBI closed its diversity-focused office in December, seemingly acquiescing to right-wing demands, and yet the president-elect still found something to rage about.

The FBI shuttered its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) office last month, according to the law enforcement agency. “In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity

On the heels of Trump’s election win, the FBI shut down its DEI office. According to Donald Trump, that isn’t good enough. In a post on Truth Social, the president-elect demanded that the FBI “preserve and retain” all of the documents previously possessed by the shuttered office.

The FBI has axed its DEI department before incoming president Donald Trump’s inauguration. Trump pledged to crack down on DEI initiatives once he takes office, which has led to numerous corporations deciding to ditch their diversity policies.
