Ferrari has ruled out a technical problem on the SF-25 F1 car that likely caused Lewis Hamilton to spin out during sprint qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton, last year's winner with Mercedes, apologised to Ferrari for an unacceptable performance after failing to get through the first phase of Belgian Grand Prix qualifying on Saturday.

Briton Lando Norris continued his resurgence by seizing pole position on Saturday for the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix. The McLaren man had won the last two races to close the gap at the top of the standings to his team-mate Oscar Piastri.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton said he will be taking up the matter with the FIA after his shock Q1 exit during the Belgian GP qualifying.

To be fair to Piastri, it was an unusual conclusion to qualifying. Track conditions deteriorated in Q3, with several drivers struggling or failing to improve on their Q2 times. Norris beat Piastri to pole, but he couldn’t match the Australian’s record-setting time from sprint qualifying on Friday.

The 40-year-old was again disappointed, placing 16th for Sunday’s race after crashing out during sprint qualifying.
