On Monday, the NBC comedy variety show announced that Gracie Abrams and Hozier will perform on the Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 episodes of the show to end the year. Chris Rock and Martin Short will host the shows, respectively.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, Short will return for his third individual "SNL" hosting appearance and fifth overall. Hozier will perform for a second time as musical guest. "SNL" will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Short has previously hosted “SNL” five times, three as an individual. In 2022, he co-hosted an episode with his “Only Murders in the Building” co-star Steve Martin, and in 1986, he hosted alongside Martin and Chevy Chase.
