Devin Spraggins stood emotionless inside a Queens courtroom Monday as state Supreme Court Justice Judge Kenneth Holder ordered him to serve 39 years to life behind bars after being found guilty of attempting to murder a police officer last year.

A man who shot a rookie NYPD officer in Queens in April of last year was sentenced on Monday, officials said. On April 5 of last year, Devin Spraggins shot NYPD officer Brett Boller and was shot in broad daylight while he and his partner responded to reports that Spraggins had assaulted a fellow passenger on an MTA bus in Jamaica near the intersection of 161st Street and Jamaica Avenue.
