Hundreds of thousands of LG electric ranges that have been on the market since 2015 are being recalled after officials discovered they were tied to over a dozen fires.

Knobs on ranges can be unintentionally activated, an issue that has proved a hazard with other brands, safety agency says.

LG has recalled 500,000 electric stove ranges because 22 models have since been linked to 28 fires that caused injuries and pet deaths, according to a Thursday report released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
