Former Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan has joined Wayne Rooney’s coaching staff at Plymouth Argyle. Phelan, 62, replaces Pete Shuttleworth as Rooney’s assistant coach. Plymouth confirmed Shuttleworth had departed by mutual consent for personal reasons.
