Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. became the first player to declare for the 2025 Home Run Derby on Wednesday, announcing his decision shortly before taking the field against the New York Mets ( GameTracker ). This year's Derby will take place on July 14, at Truist Park, the Braves' home stadium in Cumberland, Georgia.

After saying last week that he would participate in the July 14 Home Run Derby at Truist Park if invited, Acuña got his invite and accepted. The derby is the day before the All-Star Game, which Acuña also hopes to be in and appears to have a good chance based on the most recent fan-voting update.
