The US National Park Service will restore and reinstall the statue of a Confederate military officer in Washington, DC, after protesters toppled the monument five years ago.

The National Park Service will reinstall a statue of a Confederate general in Washington, D.C. that was toppled during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.

The Albert Pike statue, toppled during 2020 protests, will be restored and reinstalled by the National Park Service. The statue honors Pike’s leadership in Freemasonry and was originally dedicated in 1901.
