Two outdoor graduation ceremonies in Paterson, New Jersey, held during a dangerous heatwave ended with more than 100 people receiving treatment and some being taken to the hospital, authorities said.

Seven graduations that were also supposed to be held at Hinchliffe Stadium were rescheduled due to the sweltering heat.

Despite 70 bags of ice and water stations throughout the stadium, the extreme heat overwhelmed attendees at the outdoor ceremony.
