A man shot in October during a robbery outside a St. Paul bar died on Tuesday. Before his death, Oscar Covington told police he believed he was set up after the bartender saw he was carrying a large amount of cash.

A man who was shot on Oct. 30 has died of his injuries, according to St. Paul police. Oscar Lee Covington, 42, died on Tuesday at Regions Hospital, police said. Officers responded to the 800 block of Rice Street around 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 30. There, they found Covington with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was brought to the hospital.

A 42-year-old man has died nearly a month after he was robbed and shot outside a St. Paul bar. Prosecutors charged a bartender and a man in the case last week and amended one of the charges Tuesday. Two other men are also charged, but their cases remain under seal until their arrests.

At 5:37 p.m., Robinson and the 39-year-old “appeared on camera and posted up on the sidewalk outside Born’s Bar,” the complaint said. Robinson and Hampton’s son and the man in the pink sweatshirt exited a car, which registers to Hampton.
