Bill Guerin said USA Hockey built a team, not a group of individuals, for the Olympic men's hockey squad. That left some very talented players off the roster.

Olympic GM Bill Guerin called the process of finalizing the U.S. men's hockey roster "exhausting" but thinks he found the right mix.

DENVER – Team USA announced today the full roster for 2026 Winter Olympic Games set for Feb. 6-22, 2026 in Milan and Cortina, Italy, with Avalanche center Brock Nelson being selected to the team. This is set to be the sixth consecutive instance where the NHL sent players to the Olympic Games that the Avalanche have had one player represent the Stars and Stripes.

Team USA is stacked with talent ahead of the 2026 World XC Championships, with many of the nation's rising stars in the starting line-ups.

Cole Hutson is making progress towards a return for Team USA for their quarterfinal matchup against Finland. Max Plante remains out.
