In 2025, Walgreens will once again close on Thanksgiving, with the exception of its 24-hour locations, which will remain open to serve customers. Stores will reopen on Friday morning, Nov. 28, during normal business hours.

King Soopers announced that it will close at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, but will reopen for regular store hours the following Friday. King Soopers' Pharmacies will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Safeway will close at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Safeway Pharmacies will close at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Drug stores can be another option for shoppers. Again, hours can vary and it’s best to check ahead, especially if you need a prescription filled. Most CVS stores will be open on Thanksgiving. Walgreens has a different schedule. Non-24 hour Walgreens locations will be closed; 24-hour locations will remain open.

If you need to make a last-minute run to the grocery store to pick up something for your holiday gathering, Costco will not be an option for you this year, as the company's website says warehouses will be closed on Thanksgiving.
