First responders in Westmoreland County are searching for a 64-year-old woman who reportedly fell in a 30-foot sinkhole in Unity Township.

The sinkhole appears to have been created during the time that Pollard was walking around, officials said, noting that there is no evidence that the hole was there before she started looking for her cat.

Pollard’s 5-year-old granddaughter, who was not injured, was found in Pollard’s vehicle parked at a nearby restaurant, according to the stories. Police said the girl fell asleep in the car and her grandmother never returned. Police discovered the sinkhole about 20 feet from Pollard’s vehicle.
