A similar symbiosis is observed in the case of Casuarina trees. You see this tree, known commonly as weeping she-oak, planted on the edges of old landscapes for privacy or as a windbreak.

"A total of 66 small-sized Casuarina trees have been planted on the median divider. The plan is to beautify more such median stretches," said local councillor and BMC chairman, Sabyasachi Dutta.

The site had been partly dug in the 1970s, but during the new work the team discovered two preserved fireplaces, which contained mostly unburnt artefacts made of wood from local Casuarina trees.
