Former Notre Dame hockey player Landon Slaggert has the record for fastest goal in Chicago Blackhawks history.

Slaggert scored seven seconds into Chicago’s game at the Panthers Saturday afternoon — the fastest goal to start a game ever for the Blackhawks, according to the NHL record book.

The win was the 900th regular-season victory as a coach for Florida’s Paul Maurice, who is the fourth to hit that milestone. The others: Scotty Bowman (1,244), Joel Quenneville (969) and Barry Trotz (914).
