A small plane made an emergency landing in Alaska after a loud noise was heard about 20 minutes into the flight, according to one of the nine passengers on board. The pilot reported engine trouble and began searching for a place to land.

The flight, a De Havilland Dash 8-400 operated by regional partner PAL Airlines, took off from Newark Liberty International Airport just before 12.40pm on Wednesday.
