Rapper Young Scooter died at the age of 39 after a leg injury caused by running from the police on his birthday, March 28, reports the Atlanta Police Department in a press briefing. The police were called to a home in Atlanta as there were reports of “a dispute with shots fired and a female being dragged back into the residence” and they caught Scooter running out of the house.

The 39-year-old was a prolific street rapper with a large following who worked with some of the biggest names in southern hip-hop.
