RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - A preliminary 2.1 magnitude quake was registered near Idyllwild Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Two earthquakes shook near Idyllwild in Riverside County’s San Jacinto Mountains on Thursday evening, Nov. 27. The first earthquake hit around 5:36 p.m. with a magnitude 3.8, according to the Southern California Earthquake Data Center. A second one was felt seconds later with a magnitude of 3.5.
The first of the three earthquakes struck at 12:21 a.m. PST, registering a magnitude of 2.5 and located 12 km ENE of Thermal. This was followed by a slightly stronger quake of magnitude 2.6 at 5:32 a.
