The Attleboro Fire Department is warning residents to take precautions after multiple sightings of a venomous copperhead snake in the area of Ten Mile River. The snake is "not commonly seen in this region," the fire department warned in a Facebook post. At least two dogs have been bitten by the snake, which has been seen near Milk Street.

While the Attleboro area escaped relatively unscathed from Thursday morning's heavy rainstorms, some area communities such as Wrentham and Norfolk did get hit with several inches of rain.
The North Attleborough Health Department said that Falls Pond would be closed “until further notice” due to the detection of high levels of E. coli. The department said that the pond would be retested on July 14.
