Cyclone Fengal made landfall from 5.30 pm to 11.30 pm on Saturday with 51cm of rainfall in Mailam and 49cm in Puducherry. The storm moved inland, causing heavy rain in Chennai and western districts. IMD has issued rain alerts for multiple regions.

All schools and colleges were closed for today in Puducherry and parts of Tamil Nadu as heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone Fengal continued in those places. The cyclone weakened into a deep depression.
