Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is joining other states in filing a motion to force the Trump administration to release funding from a freeze placed last week but put on hold by federal courts.

When the Trump administration issued an order freezing federal funding last week, many organizations who rely on that funding, including the Arizona Head Start Association, were stunned.

Despite a federal judge blocking the Trump administration's federal funding freeze, critical programs say they cannot access their funds. National Head Start Association Deputy Director Tommy Sheridan joins Katy Tur to share the impact the move is having on childcare programs.

Some Head Start programs are struggling to continue services as funding delays hit. The delays come after Trump walked back on an effort to freeze federal grants.

PBS has confirmed that health centers in Arizona, Virginia, Maine, Nebraska, Illinois, Michigan, Vermont, Rhode Island, Montana and Minnesota were unable, at least temporarily, to access funds. The Maine and Montana centers are receiving their funding again.
