The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the accident and said they cannot release further details at this time.

One person is dead after an early morning wreck Thursday in Limestone County, according to Coroner Mike West. A pickup truck rear ended an 18-wheeler about 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 65 northbound, near the 355 mile marker. West says the pickup truck burst into flames, and they were not able to identify the victim at the scene.

The crash happened on I-65 northbound in the area of the 355 mile marker. West said the pickup burst into flames. The driver, West added, was burned beyond recognition. The body has been taken to the forensics department for an autopsy.
