Federal government: All nonessential federal government offices and courts are closed. State, county, local government: State offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are closed.

The annual event coinciding with the holiday kicked off with participants meeting at the Comfort Suites on West Third Street.

So in honor of the day that would have been Dr. King's 96th birthday, citizens in the Lower Hudson Valley raised their voices and served their communities through their actions.
