Extreme cold that continues into a third day is forcing school districts to announce closures, delays and virtual learning days on Tuesday. Minnesota's largest school district, Anoka-Hennepin Public Schools, Minneapolis Public Schools and St. Paul Public Schools announced on Monday evening that they were canceling classes on Tuesday.

There are a number of schools closings across Minnesota on Monday amid dangerous cold. Canby Public Schools, Marshall Public Schools and Tracy Public Schools, among many others, will all be closed for the day.

An extreme cold warning remains in place across the vast majority of Minnesota as plunging temperatures have brought dangerous wind chills to the state. On Monday, wind chills are expected to reach as low as -40 in west-central Minnesota by mid-afternoon,
