As the House moved to pass the GOP's marquee bill, Democrats began testing out the attacks they hope will win them back Congress in 2026.

By David Morgan, Richard Cowan and Andy Sullivan WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Even before the last vote on U.S. President Donald Trump's sweeping tax-cut and spending bill was counted, Republicans and Democrats in Congress began gaming out how to use it to gain an edge in the 2026 midterm elections.

That's false. There is nothing in the legislation that would allow Trump, or any future president, to stop an election from going forward.
