National study shows an increase in in-person voting and slight decrease in mail-in voting--Nevada follows suit
Nevada Controller Andy Matthews announced Wednesday he will seek re-election in 2026. Matthews, a Republican, was first elected to the seat in 2022. He is a former Nevada assemblyman who represented District 37 and served as president of the Nevada Policy Research Institute.
As the 8 News Now Investigators first reported, a Las Vegas man who voted twice in the 2020 election with his deceased wife’s ballot was able to withdraw his plea on a felony charge and instead pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor as part of a plea deal where he avoided jail time and had to pay a $2,000 fine.
Nevada resident Ronnie Williams pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit voter registration fraud in Minnesota, as announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
