Vodacom has a 54% market share and estimates the number of cellphone users to grow to 30 million within the next few years. The 076 numbers will be available to both contract and prepaid customers.

Vodacom is to introduce a new 076 number range to complement its existing 082 and 072 number prefixes. The new number range will be available to new customers with immediate effect, says the company.

Vodacom has enjoyed the successful integration of the 076 number range, alongside the existing 082, 072 and 076 Vodacom numbers ranges which have been efficiently allocated to Vodacom customers.

076 numbers are treated as an 'out-of-bundle' number by most major Irish phone companies, meaning customers will pay an extra premium for calling them, as is the case with 1890 and 1850 numbers.
