The tech giant poached several top Google researchers to help build a powerful AI tool that can diagnose patients and potentially cut health care costs.

Microsoft announced an artificial intelligence tool called MAI-DxO that outperformed a panel of doctors in diagnosing complicated cases.

Besides this achievement, Microsoft’s SD Bench platform introduced a new benchmark that, Satya Nadella on X stated, “transforms 304 NEJM cases into interactive diagnostic simulations.” Per Nadella’s post, “AI must ask questions, order tests, and weigh costs, mirroring the complexity of real clinical decision-making.”
