Nearly two months after knee surgery, Frederik Andersen will return to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes activated Andersen off injured reserve on Friday per NHL insider Frank Seravalli.

Carolina Hurricanes netminder Frederik Andersen will make his first start since returning from injury in New Jersey on Monday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Frederik Andersen was activated from injured reserve and will be the backup for the Hurricanes against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday (7 p.m. ET; FDSNSO, SCRIPPS, NHLN, TVAS2).

The Hurricanes activated starting goaltender Frederik Andersen from injured reserve Friday, Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff reports. Carolina returned third-string netminder Dustin Tokarski to AHL Chicago in a corresponding transaction to keep their active roster at the 23-player limit.
