Pittsburgh Pirates general manager Ben Cherington recently addressed the trade rumors surrounding Mitch Keller, one of his star pitchers.

Pirates center fielder Oneil Cruz is one of those players, with reports the franchise had listened to trade offers on him and that the New York Yankees one of the teams interested in him. Cruz, himself, isn't worried about any trade rumors, as there isn't anything he can control and understands that this is part of the game.

The Texas Rangers are linked to closers from the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Adolis Garcia's name has been rumored.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly looking to trade closer David Bednar, and their general manager recently addressed all these rumors.

The Tigers acquired right-handers Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak from the Minnesota Twins on Monday, July 28 — just three days before the MLB trade deadline, which is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 31. Although Paddack becomes a free agent after 2025, Dobnak has team options for 2026, 2027 and 2028.

It’s been mostly quiet on the trade front so far for the Pirates ahead of Thursday’s Trade Deadline, with the only move being sending Adam Frazier back to the Royals. That could, if not should, change in the coming days.

Unfortunately for two-time All-Star pitcher Paul Skenes, he’s likely stuck with the Pittsburgh Pirates even if he wanted a trade ahead of the July 31 deadline.
