Vision from a helicopter has captured two people wading to safety after their car was swept away by floodwaters, amid heavy rainfall in parts of Far North Queensland.

The Tully River at Euramo is likely to reach the moderate flood level (8.00 m) late Saturday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

A spokesman from the Bureau said: “The Tully River at Euramo is currently at 8.75m and rising slowly, above the moderate flood level of 8m,” he said.
