At the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia Sunday, Brendan Fraser paid tribute to the emotional support provided by his horse Pecas – which means “freckles” in Spanish – during the years when his career looked to be finished.

Brendan Fraser says his late horse Pecas "saved an emotional part of me". The 56-year-old actor, who has struggled with his mental health over the years, has paid tribute to his late support animal which he adopted after seeing his four-legged companion in the 2015 miniseries 'Texas Rising'.

Following Brendan Fraser's career slump, the actor regained popularity once again after his role on Darren Aronofsky's The Whale hit the spotlight worldwide earning the actor an Academy Award for The Best Actor.

During an appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, the Oscar winner said he's okay with social media buzz about his slow-rolling career resurgence.
