After getting blanked in Winnipeg on Friday night, the Stars needed a big response on home ice. The Jets had been shaky on the road both last series and last playoffs, and the Stars had been far better when at American Airlines Center.

The Dallas Stars’ pursuit of a second Stanley Cup took another step forward on Sunday when they defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-2. Dallas now leads the Jets two games to one in the second round of the playoffs. Sunday’s win was not without some drama though, with a third period score by the Stars’ Alexander Petrovic.

Jake Oettinger has outplayed Connor Hellebuyck, but this series has been well-played defensively and between the pipes for both the Jets and Stars. That continues in Game 4. The Winnipeg Jets will look to even their Round 2 series against the Dallas Stars with a road victory at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, May 13.
