The Geminids are one of the best and most visible annual meteor showers, when at least 120 meteors can usually be seen per hour. But 2024 will be different, thanks to the year's final full moon.

The Geminids will light up the skies this week. Here’s the best time and place to see the annual meteor shower.

Called a “meteor storm” because of its intensity, the shower is known as one of the most spectacular and consistent meteor showers. This year the Geminids can be seen from 4 December until 20 December. Their peak will be from Saturday 14 until Sunday 15.
