The energy giant said it expects to report significantly lower earnings in its integrated gas division and warned of a $1.3 billion charge due to emissions-permit payments in the fourth quarter.

Shell ( NYSE: SHEL) trimmed its Q4 forecast; reduced its LNG production forecast to between 6.8 and 7.2 million metric tons, down from a previous estimate of 6.9 to 7.5 million metric tons, and lower than Q3's 7.5 million metric tons. It sighted lower feedgas deliveries and fewer cargos shipments.
