The Washington Commanders earned a massive 45-31 upset win over the top-seeded Detroit Lions on Saturday night in the NFC divisional round to advance to their first NFC championship game since 1991, when they last won the Super Bowl.

Commanders starting guard Sam Cosmi will miss the rest of the postseason with an ACL tear, coach Dan Quinn announced Sunday.

The Washington Commanders defeated the Detroit Lions last night to move on to the NFC Championship game next Sunday. It was a great game, but there was also a pretty significant injury. Sam Cosmi was rolled up on and was visibly in a lot of pain.

Detroit, which needed to win just two home games to make the first Super Bowl in franchise history, is out. The Commanders are moving onto the NFC title game for the first time since the end of the '91 season.
