A day after benching the veteran quarterback, the team is placing Pro Bowl kicker Younghoe Koo on injured reserve, as NFL Media reported, effectively ending the special teamer's 2024 campaign with three games left in the regular season.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons have placed kicker Younghoe Koo on the practice squad and signed Riley Patterson off the Cleveland Browns practice squad. Head coach Raheem Morris said Koo was dealing with an injury that caused him to miss a field goal in Monday night’s 15-9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

He also made his lone extra point try.He finished the season with an NFL-high nine missed field goals. Morris said Tuesday the Falcons would evaluate Koo Wednesday morning — and evidently felt the need to put him on injured reserve.
